Only weak point is case tabs
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
There’s not much else to say, this is your standard will last a life time wrench set from sears. I bought this set many years ago before the failing Kay-mart mysteriously found the money to merge with them. Now they don’t sale them anymore (with that case anyway). I’ don’t remember how long I’ve had it but they have never came close to failing or slipping on a nut or bolt that wasn’t totally messed up to begin with. They have a good length a good head size and a textured finish so they don’t slip as bad when your hands get greasy (they got it right in other words). I hope if you decide to buy them you don’t just get the case and there new wrenches (that I personally think have a cheaper chrome job around the open end). They sold them I think for $50 when they first came out so I would try hard to find them cheaper, but consider getting them anyway.
This case is great, you could leave it in rain and the wrenches stayed dry. Also the recessed area for the ignition wrenches came in hand when working on older lawnmowers, weed-eaters and the such. The only bad part was the tabs where molded into the case witch means they will eventually break off. Still, it’s the best case for wrenches I’ve ever had…
Case Not As Pictured
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Carrying case not as pictured. Pictured is a case with the tools totally enclosed. What arrived is a case that is open on both ends which leaves the wrenches exposed to the elements. See “Customer Image” for picture of actual case received.
By the way, this EXACT set of tools with open-style case is available at Sears for almost half the price. Don’t get burned like I did. I ordered here because I wanted the fully-enclosed style case, which I didn’t get.
